Batman is mad and he wants to punish Superman but how can he do it? Will he manage it in this three hour movie? (Spoiler alert in review)
First we have to say that we saw the Ultimate Edition, which lasts almost 3 hours and this was the version director Zack Snyder wanted to bring to theaters but Warner Bros did not want a long version. The problem I had with this movie is the fact that it is not a sequel to Man of Steel or a stand alone Batman movie, but what is it? It is a mash of two superheroes and a scientist gone mad (Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor) where the two superheroes are fighting eachother, but are they really? Batman (Ben Affleck) is mad because Superman destroyed the Wayne Enterprise building with all its employees and seeks revenge because he does not want any more civilian casualties caused by Superman, so he wants him to bleed. In the meantime Superman does what he always is doing, save people from burning buildings, exploding spaceshuttles and rescue Lois Lane (Amy Adams).
Almost 2 hours in the movie they finally collide and the battle is on. But there is a greater enemy waiting for them and will they manage to team up and fight evil together? Off course they do and when they finally team up (how they show it in the movie is pretty terrible I think) Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) joins them and together they will fight the big evil green/brown thing called Doomsday.
Overall it is not a bad movie and the visual effects are awesome, Ben Affleck is not bad as the bitter Batman but the movie is lacking storyline and decent build up to something epic. I thought it was just a long ride till the end. No it is not a dull or boring movie but it could be so much better. Perhaps the next Justice League Part One will be a much better movie. I really hope so. Warner Bros really needs to deliver something epic because Marvel is still in the lead.
