Who are you gonna call, female ghosthunters? Bad remake or something completely different. Both statements are partly true but still I enjoyed this movie.

Couple of years back they announced to remake the good old Ghosbusters from the 1980’s with an all female cast. Paul Feig was appointed director and he gathered some crew from the hitmovie Bridesmaids together and assembled a complete new team of ghostbusters: Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCartney, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

Movie starts when a haunted house is overtaken by a ghost and scientist Erin Gilbert (Kristen Wiig) is approached to check out the house, just because years back she wrote a book about ghosts. She seeks help and approaches good old friend Abby Yates (Melissa McCartney), together with fellow scientist Jillian Holtzmann (very funny role of Kate McKinnon) they take a look at the house. They actually find a ghost and they set up shop in a Chinese restaurant. Multiple ghosts appear in New York City and the team adds another member, Patty Tolan (Leslie Jones) a NY metro worker who sees ghosts passing by at her subway station. Even the major (small role of Andy Garcia) has an opinion on the appearing ghosts in the city and the team develops multiple tools to get rid of all the ghosts.

Expect some cameos of the old team, yes offcourse they appear in this movie. Sadly Harold Ramis is not alive anymore but if you look closely at the beginning of the movie you can still spot him. Best role in this movie was Kate McKinnon, who is awesome as scientist Jillian who creates all the gear fo the Ghostbusters team and even Chris Hemsworth has a funny role as a male secretary who is too stupid to do anything.

Movie received a lot of bad publicity and even bad reviews but I actually enjoyed this movie and had a few laughs. It has not reached the level of the first Ghostbusters but is it better then Ghostbusters 2 and even a sequel in possible. I would definitely check see it, because I enjoyed the first one. But let the studio decide how to continue. Few laughs certainly guaranteed!
